What are your wishes for the holidays?

My wishes for the holiday is very simple. I want to have fun, sleep, and have a little more fun. It will be great.

The root of the word “technology” is the Greek word tecknos, which means “art.” Technology has been linked to art for centuries. For example, it took almost four years for Leonardo Da Vinci to paint the Mona Lisa, the most famous painting in the world. Today, it would take a graphic artist using a computer about five minutes to reproduce her. What is your view of the idea that today’s art is technology?

My view that today's art is technology is that i disagree. I believe that today's art is music. I believe this because of how developed and how many different types of music there are and how they can emotionally affect you.

Do you think there will be programmable pets in the future? Please explain.

I think that there will be programmable pets in the future. I think that there will be these pets because of how advanced our technology is getting. We already have things like it, but it is not fully available to the public.

Write about technology that you fear. Why do you fear it?

A technology that I fear are military technologies. We have basically come to a point where if someone wanted the world destroyed, they could do it. The thought of what could be done to the world scares me.

Write about a piece of technology that you truly believe is changing a community. This could be social media like Facebook or an application designed to do something specific (i.e., help children learn language).

One technology that I believe is truly changing the community is medical technology. It helps hospitals do a better job at treating their patients. It has allowed many people to get better treatments from hospitals.

On this day in 1877, the phonograph was invented. This machine allowed people to listen to phonograph records. How do you think listening to these records was different than listening to music today? What may be the advantages and disadvantages of each type of machine?

The records required a bigger piece of equipment. Also the quality was much less. You also had to go to a record store to buy music instead of buying it online or downloading it.

On December 3, 1967, the first successful heart transplant was conducted. It is important to keep your heart, along with the rest of your body, healthy. Create a list of ten (10) activities that will help keep your heart healthy. In addition how do you think technology has changed the way heart transplants are conducted?

I think that technology has improved the way heart transplants are conducted tremendously. It makes it easier and we understand more about it then when we didn't have as advanced technology.

Music is important in my life because it can express so many things. Music can express what you don't. It is really easy to get lost in the art of music.

Blog: Benjamin Franklin wanted the turkey, not the bald eagle, to be our country's symbol. If you had the opportunity to help decide on our nation's symbol, would you choose the turkey or the bald eagle? Or would you choose a different animal all together? Explain your answer.

I would choose the bald eagle as our countries symbol. I would use this as the symbol because it has many strong representations. The representation represent our countries values.

In 1965, the famous science-fiction writer Arthur C. Clark remarked, “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.” What is your view of the idea that advanced technology is no different from magic? In your blog, support your position by discussing an example (or examples) from literature, the arts, science, technology, current events, or your own experiences or observations.

My view that advanced technology is no different from magic is that i disagree with that statement. With the advanced technology, there is a reason for why it computes so fast or any other things for various reasons. With magic, there really is no explanation for why it happens.

On November 19, 1863, President Abraham Lincoln delivered the Gettysburg Address. Using the Internet, learn five (5) facts about the Gettysburg Address and summarize them in your own words. How would today's technology change things?

Today's technology would have changed this battle by making it much more costly. Alone it was already very costly. Many people lost their lives but with our technology it would have been way worse.

Technology is a big part of our society. We use it extensively. The technology that we use may be viewed the same in another country. Technology can be used for many same things no matter where you are or what language you speak. It also can be viewed very highly to people who do not have the same technological privileges that we have in this country.

U.S. residents have some of the highest levels of stress of any nation in the world. Choose a piece of technology, Is this piece of technology increasing the amount of stress in our everyday lives or lessening it? In what ways might this technology affect stress levels?

I think that any piece of technology causes stress. Especially with the access to social media. Social media cause a lot of stress because it is real people that can say really mean things on it.

How would your life have been different if you'd grown up 20 years earlier? 10 years? 20 years? Houw would technology have affected your life differently? Would you be a different person today (other than age-wise)

I would be a different person because the technology 10 and 20 years ago would be very different. It was not as big a part of everyones life than it is now. I would definetely be different person because i would not have the technology that i have today.

What do you think about the Amazon Echo and your privacy?

I think that is should not be that much of a concern. I highly doubt that somebody would tap in to listen to conversations. It should however, not be forgotten about.

How do you feel as though technology has changed your relationships with other people? Do you consider your interpersonal connection better or worse with the innovations of texting, Twitter, Facebook, and the like? Be specific and site several examples.

I feel like technology has taken away from interpersonal relationships. More people are spending more time on technology and less time having personal connections with people. It has gotten worse with all of the innovations that has risen.

I feel that instant replay and new technology in sports has a negative impact. There is talks about making sports such as Baseball all computerized which I think is really dumb. It would take the fun out of Baseball. Close plays would no longer be close because it would always be right and I feel that human error is a part of the game as a whole. Technology could possibly strip that away.

Set precision is a command used to set how many places after the decimal point the code shows. You can set it to many different numbers. This is useful when you only want a specific number of decimal points to show.

November is "National Peanut Butter Lover's Month." A large number of students today are allergic to peanut butter. Some classrooms and/or schools have even become "Peanut Free" zones. Do you think this is fair for the students who are not allergic to peanut butter? Explain your thinking.

I do not think this is fair to people who are not allergic to peanut butter. I do however, think that is necessary. Being allergic to peanuts suck (as i am) and the reaction you get from that stuff is not fun to whoever is allergic to them so I do agree with peanut-free schools.

What does digital footprint mean to you? Please reply in your blog. After the video, please reflect on digital footprint.

A digital footprint to me means a trail that you leave on the internet. I think it also has something to do with fossils. After watching the video i feel more self conscious about my digit footprint. Anybody can steal information or see what I'm doing which is scary.

If i had $1,000 i would put $750 of it in savings. With the other $250 i would probably buy some small things and not using the other portion. I am not a big spender.

Something I would like to become better at is Baseball. What I need to do in order to improve my skills is practice. Practicing all the skills and training will get me better at Baseball.

I do not like nuts. Mostly because I am allergic to them. So i really wouldn't know what nut I would choose to describe myself.

I do not know much about binary. Binary does not really mean anything to me except for something that involves the number 2. I would not agree that there are 10 kinds of people because i do not know what binary is yet.

This song is very important to America. It symbolizes many of our values. It is important to carry on the tradition of singing this song so we will not forget our values and the tragedies that we went through as a country. It also gives us a sense of patriotism to our country.

To look up the word computer in the dictionary, first you have to get a dictionary. Then you need to look for the C's. After that you look for Co until you find computer and the you can see the definition.

You could cheer them up and help them be in a better mood by joking and talking with them. This will help them open up and increase their mood. Nobody likes to be around someone who is grouchy all of the time.

I think that aerial photography is very beneficial. One benefit is that you can see your surroundings from a different perspective. You can also see what is around you on a bigger scale.

Today is "Columbus Day" in honor of explorer Christopher Columbus. Describe an area of Earth that you would like to explore and explain your reasons for wanting to explore that specific area.

An area of Earth that I would like to explore is the Amazon rain forest. I would like to explore here because I would like to see all of the animals and different plants. I would also like to find overlooks and waterfalls. I would explore with a camera so I could take pictures of all the cool things I see.

If I could call anyone i would call Kanye West. I would call him because he is cool and it would probably be really funny to talk to him. I would also call him just because.

J. Frank Duryea, who was born on this day in 1869, with his brother Charles, built and operated the first automobile in the U.S. He also won America's first automobile race. If you could participate in any type of race what would it be and why? Would it be on land, in the water, in the air or a combination?

If i could participate in any race it would be in an automobile race. It would be on land. I would participate in this type of race because it is really fun to drive fast. I would want to do this race in a manual car because they are fun.

On this day in 1889, Thomas Edison showed the 1st motion picture using Kinetoscope he had invented. Some people may argue that this was one of the most important inventions in history. What do you think was the most important invention ever and why?

I think that the most important invention ever was the wheel. I think that it was the wheel because the wheel led way to many other great inventions. Some of these inventions include cars and many other things.

What is your favorite kind of weather? Why?

My favorite kind of weather is gloomy weather. Another favorite is when it is pouring really bad. I like this kind of weather because you do not want to do anything and you just lay in bed all day watching tv.

October 2, 1950, the Peanuts comic was introduced to the world. Who is your favorite Peanuts character? How do you think technology would add to the story of the Peanuts.

My favorite peanut character is snoopy. I like snoopy because I like dogs and snoopy is a dog. Technology would add lots of life and interesting things to the story of the peanuts.

What is intelligence? Are computers intelligent? Why or why not?

Intelligence is how smart you are or how fast you can troubleshoot something. I don't necessarily think that computers are intelligent. I think this because computers are programmed to be intelligent, they are not automatically intelligent.

How has technology affected global politics or economics?

Technology has had a great affect on global politics or economics. They let people contact each other internationally. You can buy products from all over the world. People from other countries can also keep up with the events going on in other countries.

How well do you follow directions?

I think that I follow directions pretty well. If i get directions i will most likely complete the task. I also think i follow them pretty well because I aced the quiz.

What would you do if you could travel free anyplace in the world?

I would travel somewhere in Europe. I have never been to Europe. The place I would want to go is Croatia because no one ever mentions Croatia.

Talk about a time in your life where technology most helped you. It can be medically-related, socially-related, really any time that technology affected you in a positive way.

One area of my life where technology continues to affect me in a positive way is school. whenever i need help on learning something or figuring something out I just search it up on the internet. It has saved me many times.

Computers can be used as tools for many things. there are many different applications that you can install on the computer. They also can show you what you are doing. That is why it would be good for visualizing data, modeling and design, and art.

What is a motivational speaker?

A motivational speaker or inspirational speaker is a speaker who makes speeches intended to motivate or inspire an audience. The speaker we had today was named Tyler. He was very good.

Briefly describe how you would graph in your Algebra class (The x-y coordinate plane, etc.).

You would graph on a coordinate plane. On the coordinate plane there are 2 axis'. The x and the y axis. The x axis goes horizontally and the y axis goes vertically. Ex. (2,3) You would go 2 units over on the x axis and 3 units up on the y axis.

On September 15, 1968 An Wang obtained a patent for a calculating apparatus, a basic component of computer technology. How do you think computers have changed since 1968?

Computers have changed a lot since 1968. They are way more advanced than they were back then. They can now display higher quality images, look different, perform better, and have way more functions. The technology industry has grown a tremendous amount since then.

What do you think about when you hear the word data? Where can it be found? Where does it come from?

When I hear the word data I think about information that is stored on a computer. Data can be found on the computer wherever things are stored. Data comes from information that gets stored on the computer.

You need to evaluate websites because some websites may not be credible. Some websites may have false information so you need to be careful which website you choose. Those websites should not be trusted and you should find another website to use.

What does having a positive work ethic mean to you?

Having a good work ethic means that you never fall behind. You are always on top of things and nothing gets by you. It also means that the quality of your work is very good and getting work done is a routine.

Who is the person from history that you would most like to meet and talk to? Why? What would you like to ask?

The person from history that i would most like to meet and talk to is Sandy Koufax. I would like to meet him because he is my favorite Dodger player from the past. I would like to ask him how it felt to be one of the best baseball pitchers of his time and ours.

What would you do if all the electricity in the world just stopped?

If all of the electricity in the world just stopped I would probably freak out a little bit. After that i would probably sit around bored all day. I would also go to hangout with some friends and be outside all day.

What is augmented reality?

Augmented reality is a view of a physical environment that has computer generated secondary input. It is like virtual reality except that it is still the real world, there are just computer generated things going into it. An example of augmentation are the scoreboards on sports channels keeping track of everything happening in the game.

In 1981, U.S. performed a nuclear test at Nevada Test Site. What is your thoughts about a nuclear test occurring in Nevada?

I feel that nuclear tests occurring in Nevada can be a safety hazard and should be stopped. I understand that in Nevada there are many areas that are pretty far from civilization and it makes for good test sites. Even though they make good tests sites, the hazards are too great and it should be moved to a place where it is isolated from people since Nevada is not totally isolated.

What is a computer? How many computers are in the room?

A computer is a machine that you can use to preform various tasks. These tasks include going on the internet, playing video games, and many others useful things. There are 36 computers in the room.

What type of computer is better PC or a Mac?

The computer that I think is better is a PC. I have an easier time using it than a mac. Even though I think that a PC is better, both computers have pros and cons. PC's are better if you like to game and Macs are better for functionality so it all depends on how you use it.
